Fact Check: Ratan Tata Did Not Donate Bulletproof Buses to Indian Army

Ratan Tata Did Not Donate Bulletproof Buses to Indian Army

A recent social media post has gone viral, claiming that Ratan Tata has generously donated bulletproof and bombproof buses to the Indian Army. The post often includes a picture of a sky-blue armored bus with the word "Tata" prominently displayed, alongside an image of Ratan Tata himself.

However, our investigation has revealed that this claim is **false**. While it's a heartwarming narrative, the reality is quite different. The buses seen in the viral image were actually donated to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in 2017 by MIDHANI (Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited).

The Truth Behind the Viral Claim

To verify the authenticity of the claim, we conducted a thorough reverse image search of the viral photo. This led us to an official tweet from the CRPF dated September 7, 2017. The tweet clearly states that the armored buses and other protective gear were provided by MIDHANI as part of the "Make in India" initiative.

Why This Matters

It is essential to verify information before sharing it on social media platforms. Misinformation can spread rapidly and cause unnecessary confusion and distress. By debunking this viral claim, we aim to promote digital literacy and encourage critical thinking
